Day after day, rumor after rumor, the 3rd installment of our beloved game seemed even more out of reach. And finally, we've got official word that Sega will never localize it.
Since VC3 was out in Japan, countless fans have been continuously been asking about whether this game would come to the West. No official answer was ever given in months, misleading some to false hope. However, a fan found RubyEclipse(supposedly one of the staff members) at Sega's booth and asked about whether Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity would be localized. The answer he got was that Sega West doesn't have any more plans for PSP, so games that have been out in Japan in 2011 and so on are not going to be localized. He also hinted the fact that previous installments of newer games, such as Phantasy Star Portable 2 or Valkyria Chronicles 2 did not sell well, partly due to the piracy that lingers around PSP these days.
Yeah Sega West, nice job there. I guess we could always hope some other company picks it, but if I were you, I'd stop believing in them and grab a Japanese copy.
