Valkyria Chronicles 3 is not going to be localized after all.

Day after day, rumor after rumor, the 3rd installment of our beloved game seemed even more out of reach. And finally, we've got official word that Sega will never localize it.

New York City besieged by typhoon "Irene"

After all the speculation, it seems that the typhoon "Irene" did not act as calmly as it could have and keeps causing disaster.

New York, the largest U.S. city, has been hit by the Hurricane "Irene" in the Sunday morning (GMT) in high winds and torrential rains. This phenomenon has caused the deaths of eight people in North Carolina, Virginia and Florida, while 1.5 million citizens have been forced out of their homes by order of the U.S. authorities.

What's YOUR excuse for not trying Ten Desires out yet?

But I was on vacation. I could rarely access the Internet, much less download something as bulky as this game. Yeah, I know. Lame excuse. Anyways, let me review this new ZUN wonder a bit.

Sengoku Basara - Chronicle Heroes : not sure if it's worth it

So I'm a recent Sengoku Basara fan. Well, recent is subjective. I played SB2 a bit with a friend, then got SB3 on PS3 and loved it. I've seen both seasons of the the SB anime as well.I was hoping that this game would be up to par with the games. It seems it wasn't.

~~ Mahou Shoujo Ruruka ~~

First of all, let me clarify that this game is labeled 18+, so you minors might wanna reconsider reading this.

Since I decided to clean up my hard drive a bit, I checked out random games that I hadn't even installed (yay for me randomly downloading hundreds of files without thinking) and I stumbled on this one, and since I actually like it, I'm gonna write a short review. It's full name, along with the circle's name, and other credentials too, and also an easy way to search for it, is  (同人ソフト) [110619] [くろごまソフト] 魔法少女☆ルルカ.

My own top 6 seiyuu rankings!

With all these new seiyuus getting interesting parts here and there, I decided it's time for an actual ranking, since that may as well change easily should a more likable/interesting one pop up.

Rankings are separate for males and females:

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée 1st episode screenshots

This show just reeks of cuteness, though you might find the art somewhat lacking in...certain areas.Nonetheless, it seems like it's gonna be a pretty relaxing and beautiful show.

Resonance of Fate Revisited

I remember when I first bought this game.Resonance of Fate in the West, or End of Eternity in Japan. It was in the week it came out.Pretty close with Final Fantasy XIII,which came out one or two weeks later.I was really happy when I got it,but that happiness quickly vanished after the first hours. But why was that?

Byakuren Hijiri Appreciation Thread

Time for a little gallery of our slightly misunderstood mage.

Saturday, June 11, 2011

Are you even serious about this?Isn't this Kaguya's blogspot after all?

"You named your blog off this girl, yet you didn't devote even a single post to her?Blasphemy,I say!".

And that's the story.Or maybe not.Not sure about what actually happened back there.

Anyways, since it's true I've upped appreciation posts for some of my other favourites,I can't really think of an excuse about why I haven't yet for her.So here you go:

Will our eternal prayers be finally fulfilled?

After the news about the upcoming Monster Hunter 3rd remake for PS3,many of us are wondering:Will there be other popular PSP titles released as remakes as well?

So it's time to make my short list on what I mostly anticipate to see in HD epicness:

-Dissidia Duodecim(online matches, and since the PSP version features better graphics than MH 3rd,I'd expect much better visuals than MH 3rd HD)
-Valkyria Chronicles 2&3(this should be obvious, most fans have been yapping about this years ago)
-God Eater Burst
-Kingdom Hearts:Birth By Sleep
-Fate/Extra
-Project Diva(the full game)
-Phantasy Star Portable 2-Infinity-
-The 3rd Birthday
-Super Robot Wars Z2

the full list goes on and on...

And of course, there are those that want to see a release so badly, they'd actually make something like this:

Much moar Neptunia mk-II screenshots, bondage included.

As it seems, not only will the sequel of our favourite game,Hyperdimension Neptunia, feature a
much younger cast than it's predecessor, but it'll also feature more saucy content,as well as stunningly beautiful graphics, and even more.

New Hyperdimension Neptunia announced!

A sequel for our already released and beloved title,Hyperdimension Neptunia has been announced.

The name will be Hyperdimension Neptunia mk-II (Coujigen Game Neptune mk-II),and is scheduled for the upcoming August.

New characters have also been revealed:

Nepgear:

Uni:

Rom & Ram :

Those characters are supposedly handheld goddesses,so they seem a lot younger than their predecessors.

The game will also have improved graphics and a reworked(read:better) battle system.

August just can't come soon enough, can it?

Persona 4 gets animated!

AIC ASTA, who have previously worked on Bamboo Blade amongst other anime shows,  are in charge of the series’ production. There’s a proper website up for the anime now.

The staff and cast page reveals a few additional details. Kazuma Kaneko, who you know as Atlus’ demon designer is credited for Persona designs. Shigenori Soejima is credited for character design. However, Shoji Meguro, music composer for the Persona series, is credited for providing the anime series’ music as well. Is Meguro creating new music specifically for the anime, or will the series use certain tracks from the game? (Or both?)

Additionally, the site reveals that the protagonist has a new name for the anime. Instead of Seta Souji, as he’s referred to in the Persona 4 manga, he’s called Yu Narukami in the anime,to the dismay of many fans.

Yet another stupid dubbing mistake appals fans

Every now and then people wonder how come some of us keep preferring the Japanese dubbing in games most of the times.Well, here's another great example at how English dubs are cheap and thoughtless, simply focusing in a fast localization, rather than aknowledging how important a game actually is.
Oh yeah,I forgot that mispelling trademark moves in a game is obviously taking fans into consideration.

The video in discussion:

The weak of heart should just stop after hearing the word once or twice.

New Atelier game announced, expected to be better than its predecessors

The newest installment of the popular Atelier series seems to be as good as ever, with many new features and returning characters.

As far as new features are concerned, the game is supposed to have some sort of land cultivation system,as well as improved battle system.

It also features a lolified Rorona, though we don'y know how Rorona ended up younger than Totori, who was her pupil.

The game is scheduled for Playstation 3 on the 23rd of June in Japan.

Now why can only wonder when Atelier Totori is going to actually be localized...

Japan has started dropping water to cool down reactors

Japan's military CH-47 Chinook helicopters began spraying tonnes of water on reactors 3 and 4 at Fukushima, 220km (140 miles) from Tokyo, at 0948 local time (0048 GMT), officials said.
Two helicopters, flying at less than 300 feet, dumped four loads of water on the reactor, although the footage suggested a significant quantity was missing the target.

Initially police crews had tried to spray the reactor but were forced to withdraw because they would have been exposed to high radiation levels. The military vehicles, unlike those of the police, are built to allow personnel to remain inside, NHK reported.

The roofs of the No 3 and No 4 reactors were blown away by hydrogen explosions earlier this week, depriving them of a last line of defence against potentially dangerous radiation leaks.
In the worst-case scenario, overheating fuel rods could heat up to the point where they begin to melt and release high levels of radioactivity.

Japan's top spokesman, Yukio Edano, said there was no need to widen the exclusion zone, but signs are emerging that other countries are taking a more cautious approach.

The worsening situation prompted the US to ask citizens living within an 80-km radius to evacuate.
''We are recommending, as a precaution, that American citizens who live within 50 miles (80km) of the Fukushima nuclear power plant evacuate the area or to take shelter indoors if safe evacuation is not practical,'' the US embassy said in a statement. The British embassy has since issued similar advice, and asked citizens living in Tokyo and northern Japan to consider leaving.

Fear not,Catherine WILL be localized after all!

After all the fuss about Atlus seemingly not really up to releasing the game overseas,it seems they were only fooling around with us.

The date seems to be set in July 2011,with Amazon providing a more specific day,July 26th.

Now,we can't help but wonder if there's any chance of getting any kind of pre-order bonus.

Replaying Legend of the Dragoon once again...

Everytime I get my hands on this game,I get that distinctive feeling of nostalgia.Like meeting a friend whom you haven't seen in years,or returning to your home town after a long period of absence. And each time,I just love it even more.

Yeah, some would probably say "What do you find attractive in such an old game that's full of outdated graphics and cliche characters?".I can't expect from anyone to have the same feelings as me for LotD,but I do know that most would feel nostalgic if they suddenly heard a song they used to listen to ten years ago,or if they saw an episode of a series they used to watch when they were 5 years old.Yeah, that's the same feeling compelling me to play this game, even though it's my 4/5th time replaying it...

I must also recommend it to the less fortunate among you that didn't have the luck to start playing before the Playstation 1 was completely ditched, and probably ignored this gem for other games even if you do own a PS2.

Catherine will not be localized

Despite the popular hype of the recent puzzle game,Catherine,in Japan,it seems Atlus doesn't to release the game overseas.

Reportedly,Atlus US has said "Catherine is a Japan-only game and there are no plans for a NA release at this time. Sorry about that!".

Whether this is genuine or just some way of fooling around with the fans remains to be seen...

New Catherine patch lowers difficulty

After innumerable complaints from players about the new Atlus game,Catherine, being too hard, even on Easy, the company is working on a patch that will balance out the game a bit.

Noone knows when it will be released, but let's hope this doesn't bring up a new wave of complaints for the game being "too easy".

Dissidia 012 Duodecim Prologue Confirmed for the West

A representative from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed that the "Prologue" chapter for Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy will be released in the West ahead of the release of the Final Fantasy fighter sequel in a post on the official Playstation Blog.

Responding to a fan question in the comments about if and when the Dissidia "Prologus" chapter would be available on the European Playstation Store. Responding was Ross McGarth, part of the Playstation Store team in Europe. His response confirmed both a US and EU release, saying "the Prologus will be out at the same time as the US (at least that’s the date I have)."

The Prologus was released in Japan during the Square Enix 1st Production Department Premiere. It allows fans to take control of several of the chahracters from the final version of the game and fight through a chapter that leads up to the opening of the final version of Dissidia.

Those who play the Prologus chapter will carry their level, items and other bonuses over to the final game but also unlock a major exclusive bonus - Final Fantasy VII's Aerith. She won't be playable, but will be selectable as an 'Assist' character who appears in battle and performs a single action to aid you. She'll only be available in Dissidia to those who played Prologus.

Prologus cost 300 Yen in Japan - essentially amounting to a paid demo with some original story content. It's not too bad, mind - that only comes out at around £2.50 or $4. #

Poor Raidou.

Even though I was between Kaguya and Kuzunoha for the blog name part,Kaguya was the superior choice in the end.For the runner-up,I guess one picture will have to suffice.
